Montrose Girls and Wellington
Boys Advance to Quarterfinals The unbeaten Montrose Lady Bluejays
advanced to class 1 state quarterfinal play after routing Hume
68-43 on Tuesday night. Montrose will face Verona Saturday
in their quarterfinal matchup at State Fair Community College in
Sedalia. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00. The only
other WCMO winner in sectional play was undefeated
Wellington-Napoleon who edged by Mid-Buchanan 73-68 in class 2
boys action. The quarterfinal matchup for Wellington will
be a battle of unbeaten when they clash with Sturgeon Saturday
2:45 at Chillicothe Middle School. Class 4 and 5 state
semifinals begin Friday with the Kearney boys and O'Hara girls
fighting for a chance to play in title games Saturday.
