Concordia 4, Wellington-Napoleon 2

Summary: co-MVP pitchers Carter Brown of Concordia and Christian Nixdork of Wellington met in sectional play Monday.  Brown of Concordia comes out on top pitching a complete game, one earned run and six strikeouts.  Both players had homeruns in the contest.

Summary: SC wins class 4 district 13

 

Sacred Heart (11-5) 9, Lakeland 2

Summary: Grems win class 1 district 14

 

 

5/21 Baseball

 

Higginsville (15-9) 5, Cole Camp (17-5) 4

Summary: Huskers win class 2 district 13

 

 

5/19 Baseball

Concordia Orioles (13-3) 2, Santa Fe Chiefs (14-4) 1
Summary: Carter Brown pitch all 7 inning to beat the 2nd best team in state (so what they thought). losing 1-0 the orioles had Drew Smith on second base and Freshmen catcher Hayden brown at the plate as he rippes one over the center fielders head to score Smith. The 7th and final time for the orioles to win had Zach wolski on first base after Jr Langkrahr got hit by a pitch and Wolski came in to run for him. Shooting a shot out to the left field fence Collin Werths raced around the bases going all the way 90 feet away from a in the park home run. Carter Brown the conference MVP closed the bottom of the inning out striking out 3 chiefs to win the game. The chiefs were unsuccesful to score in the last inning with bases loaded with one out.
Additional Information: The Chiefs are getting ready for summer baseball to hopefully get ready for the 2011 baseball season.

Wellington-Napoleon 10, Lone Jack 1
Summary: Championship game of the District 16 tournament. Christian Nixdorf gets the win pitching a complete game and Drew Schaberg hits a three run home run in the bottom of the first to put the Tigers up 3-1.

 

Wellington-Napoleon 4, Kingsville 2
Summary: 2nd round of the District 16 tournament. Blake Seitz gets the win, pitching 6 strong innings.

Wellington-Napoleon (9-9) 24, South Nodaway 1
Summary: 1st round game in District play. Blake Seitz hits a grand slam as all the Tigers hitters were on a roll. Taylor Bryant started the game and gets the win.

Summary: Clinton and O'Hara split doubleheader.

Summary: Tigers down 11-0 at one point in the game and down 12-8 going into the bottom of the seventh. Drew Schaberg's single down the left field line drove in the tying and winning run. Drew had 7 RBI's in the game with a grand slam. Jake Rusky pitches in relief and gets the win.
