Higginsville Claims MRVC-East Crown, Blanks Trojans

The Higginsville Huskers claimed their first conference title since 1978 with a 38-0 shutout of Carrollton Friday night.

The Huskers finish their conference schedule a perfect 5-0 including a win over defending class 3 state champ Richmond in week 5. Higginsville's overall record stands 8-1 with their only loss, a week 1 overtime loss at Concordia.

The Huskers will look to claim back-to-back district titles and improve on their sectional appearance a year ago when they travel to St. Paul in week 10.
