Huskers Fall Short in Class 2 Title Game

The Higginsville Huskers fell short in their first state title game in school history Friday at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.

Lamar defeated Higginsville 49-19 behind a massive offensive line that helped compile 401 yards of offense and seven rushing touchdowns.

The Huskers cut the deficit to 28-13 with their opening second half drive but Lamar buried Higginsville by scoring three quick touchdowns aided by two successful onside kicks.

The Huskers finish their best season in school history at 13-2.
